Since World War II, 80,000chemicals have been added to our environment along with a significant increase in environmental pollution from increased industrialization. Many of these chemicals and environmental pollutants include heavy metals.
Sources of exposure are contaminated food, water, air, vaccination preservatives and amalgam dental fillings resulting in an accumulation of toxins stored in the soft tissue and bones of the human body. In the United States during the year 2000, over 300,000 newborns were exposed in the uterus to levels of methyl mercury higher than those allowable by the US EPA recommendations, placing these newborns at risk fro adverse neuro-developmental effects. Primary to heavy metal toxicity are arsenic, lead and mercury.
Heavy metal toxicity interrupts the metabolic pathways of healthy cell function leading to inflammation; mineral depletion and cellular damage. Heavy metal toxicity contributes to autism, Alzheimer's, dementia, hypothyroidism, candida, cardiovascular disease.
Laboratory testing is available to reliably identify the extent of a heavy metal burden. Heavy metals can be safely removed from the body using chelating agents directed by a knowledgeable physician. Selection of chelating agent, dosage, and route of administration are dependent on the individual and the heavy metal to be removed.
Dr. Muran specializes in heavy metal detoxification and is a published authority on safe mercury removal. Click on the link below to view his article.
